Protect Your Children from the Sexual Agenda

See this content in the original post

In London, as reported on Lifesitenews.com on July 1st, 2019, a young girl was suspended by her headteacher after she requested to be excused from an LGBT pride month lesson. The young girl, Kaysey, boldly states her disagreement with the agenda as she said, “Before anybody knew what LGBT meant, everybody knew what gender they were...But now people are confused, and they’re saying that they’re bisexual and trans because they’re confused...Before this happened, they were completely confident of who they were but now they’re not.  It’s really affecting other kids because now they’re losing confidence...and asking, ‘Why am I this person? Why can’t I be someone else? ’(www.lifesitenews.com)”

There are two important takeaways from this news story. First, it is that there is an aggressive effort to influence our children to accept the so-called “alternative lifestyles” which include same-sex relationships, and transgender identities. The second takeaway from the news is that the young girl, Kaysey, had to have been raised by parents that instilled certain values in her - giving her the conviction to reject the LGBT lesson.

How can we build that same type of conviction in the heart of our children? How can we protect our children from the LGBT agenda?

Be a Radical Example

Deuteronomy 6:1-2 Now these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD your God commanded to teach you, that ye might do them in the land whither ye go to possess it: 2That thou mightest fear the LORD thy God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son's son, all the days of thy life; and that thy days may be prolonged.

Keeping God’s word is the sure way of protecting your home from the sexual agenda sweeping the earth. God gives us his word for the well-being of our lives and household. Your children should see a radically committed believer in the home. Reject a shallow, worldly, lukewarm Christianity, and let your heart burn with the fire of God’s word. Demonstrate the fear of God in your home by living by the word of God, and making the Lord a priority in everything that you do.

Your children should see a radically committed believer in the home.

Live according to God’s word concerning your gender, sexual activity, and marriage. Mothers and fathers should demonstrate the Biblical view of their gender roles. Women showing nurturing care, and men demonstrating protective strength. In addition, married couples must endeavor to demonstrate the love of God in their marriage with husband and wives obeying the Biblical commands that God has given. Wives respecting and submitting to their husbands; husbands loving, protecting, and providing for their wives.

Deuteronomy 6:4-6 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD: 5And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. 6And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:

Radically love God. Radically live for him. It should be clear in your home, that God is in charge. Your life should reflect your deep love for God. Hypocrisy and duplicity in the Christian life of parents kill faith in the heart of children. Be real in your love for God. Your life should visibly be counter to the secular and cultural trends of society. This will trigger curiosity and questions in the heart of children concerning your faith and values.

Biblical Home Teaching

Deuteronomy 6:7-9 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. 8And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes. 9And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.

A radical Christian life triggers the curiosity of children to learn. Christian parents must make it a priority to teach their children. This is not a task to just leave to Sunday school, and to the church. Rather, every parent has the responsibility to raise their children in the fear of God. Ensure that children have a basic understanding of God’s character, creation, redemption, and the foundation of God’s creation. Tell your children the key Biblical stories concerning Israel, the patriarchs, and other old testament characters referenced in Hebrews 11. Ensure they are familiar with the gospel stories of Christ. God’s word will instill the values that will give your child a conviction against the sexual agenda. Definitely, you would teach them the creation story concerning men being made in the image of God, the creation of the woman, and the institution of marriage in Genesis chapter 1 and 2. There are several ways to teach your children:

Feed their Curiosity

If you live a radically committed Christian life, your children will become curious about your faith. Often they will have questions, and ask things about God. Questions such as Be ready to answer these questions from a Biblical perspective.

Family Devotions

This can be a set time of prayer and Bible study with children around a certain on Biblical topics.

Story-telling

Especially in the early years of a child, try to tell stories to your children that will demonstrate Biblical teaching. When my children were young, I often told them a “Bible-man” story. I would even act the part and had a song to go along with it. This was just a way of instilling in my children the importance of God’s word.

Current News Discussions

In the information-intensive world that we are now in, children are becoming aware of current events at younger ages. Make it a point to share the Biblical scriptures and principles that will speak to the issues of current cultural issues. Surely, this will include Biblical discussions on sexual issues that are coming up in the news. There is nothing wrong with being straightforward with children on the Biblical perspective on the things that are currently happening.

Life Discussions

Make it a practice to engage your children in conversation at concerning their daily living including school, friendships, music, digital entertainment, internet, and every other aspect of their daily life. Let them feel comfortable sharing their life activities with you, and share biblical principles with them as a natural part of your daily interaction.
