What Are The Arrows?

Committed Believers

First, we tend to look to great leaders for revival to take place, but God has positioned every committed believer as an arrow for His revival. Believers who are called,faithful, and gifted are those God will use as arrows to hit the bullseye of His revival.

  1. Called

Isaiah 49:1-2 Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name.

2And he hath made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of his hand hath he hid me, and made me a polished shaft; in his quiver hath he hid me;

The prophet declares that the Lord had called him, and then had made him a polished shaft. The polished shaft is an arrow, and the quiver is the holding place for the arrow. God has called every believer, and then fashions who he calls as arrows for His will. Jesus said to his disciples, “follow me and I will make you fishers of man”. Once believers answer the call, God begins to make you into an instrument for revival.

Believers are called by God to represent him, and to preach the gospel. God has made us arrows in his hands, instruments ready to be used. He will use you to spread the gospel.

Matthew 4:19 And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.

2. Faithful

Psalm 78:57 But turned back, and dealt unfaithfully like their fathers: they were turned aside like a deceitful bow.

The arrows of revival are the faithful believers who do not look back. These are believers who are not taken by the world but committed to God and His work. They are a polished arrow not a twisted one.

“The children of Ephraim, being armed, and carrying bows, turned back in the day of battle.10. They kept not the covenant of God, and refused to walk in his law; 11. And forgat his works, and his wonders that he had shewed them.” (Psa 78:9-11, KJV)

God has armed every believer as an arrow of His revival. God uses them because they will stand in the day of battle on the evil day. They will not turn back or disobey God lik the children of Ephraim described in the above scripture. They keep God's word and remain mindful of His work and power. Therefore they keep the fight against the enemy and remain faithful to God's call.

3. Gifted

Ephesians 4:11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

God has given ministry gifts and has given other gifts of the Spirit to believers so they can operate as arrows of God’s revival.

The Word of God

  1. Pierces

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

The Word of God is the Arrow of Revival. It is quick, sharp, and piercing just like an effective arrow. It cuts through the thoughts that try to block the will of God.

2. Brings Conviction

Acts 2:37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

The preaching of the gospel on the day of Pentecost pierced the hearts of the hearers. The word pricked comes from the same Greek word meaning pierced.

Utterance

  1. Preaching

    Preaching triggers the piercing power of the Word of God.

  2. Prophesying

Isaiah 49:2 And he hath made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of his hand hath he hid me, and made me a polished shaft; in his quiver hath he hid me;

Offspring

God has given children to be instruments of HIs revival. Children are arrows of revival.

Psalm 127:3-5 Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.4As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. 5Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.

  1. Physical Offspring - Children

    The above scripture shows that children are like arrows in the hands of a mighty man. Raising children in the fear of God is a catalyst for revival. This means that it's vital to develop the family and raise godly children in the Lord. Therefore, we spend time talking about marriage and family, since this is God’s given means for reproducing and raising children in the will of God.

  2. Spiritual Offspring

Each believer can spread the gospel and bring new souls into the kingdom of God. New believers are babies in the kingdom of God (1 Peter 2:2). This means that to usher in revival, winning souls to Christ, and nurturing them in the Lord are two vital ingredients. Spiritual children, new believers, are arrows of revival. New believers will bring more souls into the kingdom as they spread the gospel of Christ to family, friends, and acquaintances.

Your Spiritual Weapons

In summary, all the spiritual weapons God has given us to fight against the powers of darkness, are arrows of revival. An arrow is a weapon.

2 Corinthians 10:4-5 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 5Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.

The following weapons are mighty through God. They are arrows of revival.

  • Prayer - Ephesians 6:18

  • Truth - Ephesians 6:14

  • Preaching - Ephesians 6:15

  • Faith - Ephesians 6:16

  • Hope of Eternal Life - Ephesians 6:17

  • The Word of God - Ephesians 6:17

  • Praise - Psalm 149:6

  • Rebuking/Binding and Loosing  - Matthew 16:19

Basically, practicing the disciplines of the Christian faith shoots the arrows of revival. So, we discuss the Christian life in this program, so that we can be a voice for practicing the things that are arrows of revival.
